4th at the 2019 World Championships, 3-time European gold medallist, the first British man to run sub-10s 100m and sub-20s 200m and an integral part of GB’s first-ever sprint relay World Championship gold medal in front of a home crowd at London 2017; Adam has seen it all in athletics and still has plenty more to give.
Still in full-time education whilst he competed against the world’s greatest sprinters in London 2012, since opting not to pursue a career in football where he was signed by Chelsea FC, the first few years of his athletics career got off to a flying start. He became the only teenager to race in a World Championship sprint final in 2013 (coming 5th in 200m), became the fastest man in Europe in 2014 winning 2 gold medals at the European Championships, at 22 captained Team GB to their most successful Olympic Games in Rio 2016 and attained a degree in Sports & Exercise Science with Human Biology to go with 15 ‘A’ grades in GCSE (including an A in Japanese).
Post-2016, Adam has gone on to win an international medal every year at every major Championship with a World Championship gold and silver medal as well as a European Championship gold medal. He reinforced his stature as the fastest man in Europe, finishing 4th at the 2019 World Championships, the highest of any European athlete in the 200m.
With parents hailing from Iran and Morocco, Adam has a large multi-cultural following and with his articulate, personable and humble nature, which was evident to all upon agonisingly missing out on an Olympic 200m medal by 0.003s; the world is at his jet-heeled feet.
