  • Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus bonuses

About the Role

Following an exceptional wave of growth, we are elevating our creative engine. We are seeking a Lead Athlete Storyteller (Brands) to oversee our expanding commercial portfolio. This is a senior, dual-responsibility role for an ambitious, future-minded creator. You will not only act as the premium creative force on the ground, but you will also architect how a diverse ecosystem of global brands brings athlete storytelling to life.

 

You will lead the intersection of elite athlete identity and brand alignment, transforming intimate seeding moments, training environments, and major competitive milestones into nimble, high-velocity narratives that instantly connect with current culture. Crucially, you have the ambition to build, scale, and mentor a world-class creative team as the agency expands.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Brand Portfolio Oversight: Lead the creative strategy and execution across our portfolio of brand partners, ensuring athlete narratives seamlessly blend raw, authentic lifestyle content with high-value brand integration.

  • High-Velocity Content Production: Act as the lead on-ground creator, shooting and editing nimble, platform-native short-form and long-form content (Instagram Reels, TikTok, Youtube) directly within elite sporting environments.

  • Relationship & Trust Management: Work 1:1 with an elite roster of athletes spanning multiple disciplines. Build absolute, peer-to-peer trust to unlock raw personal storytelling without disrupting their performance mindset.

  • Team Building & Future Strategy: Bring a future-focused mindset to the agency. Actively driving the growth of our Athlete Storytelling department, with the desire and capability to recruit, mentor, and lead junior Athlete Storytellers as we scale.

  • Cultural & Data-Informed Direction: Look past basic aesthetics. Analyze digital insight data, track structural content gaps, and rapidly translate real-time internet culture and trends into immediate, high-performing content edits.

  • Ecosystem Optimisation: Direct real-time talent communication to keep athletes consistently active and confident around major cultural or competitive milestones.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Elite Athlete & Brand Experience: 5+ years of proven experience directly handling high-profile professional athletes, creators, or major consumer sports brands in high-pressure environments.

  • Cultural & Creative "Edge": A standout portfolio demonstrating that you know how to make sports culture look cool, distinct, and disruptive. You understand the subcultures of sport and how to make a brand message feel entirely native to an athlete's feed.

  • Elite Mobile Mastery: Absolute fluency in lightning-fast, high-quality mobile production workflows and software (e.g., CapCut, in-app workflows). You must be able to turn around premium content in minutes, not days.

  • YouTube Architecture & Hybrid Execution: You understand the full creative spectrum, from rapid-turnaround "lo-fi" storytelling to high-production shoots. You possess a demonstrated ability to architect, scale, and evolve long-form video ecosystems.

  • Relationship Building & Ambition: Exceptional emotional intelligence, a team-first attitude, and deep respect for athlete boundaries. You possess a strong desire to take ownership of a department and build a legacy within a growing project.

  • Data Literacy: Comfort working with platform analytics to back up your creative instinct, evaluating hook efficiency, and making logical, data-backed formatting choices.

  • Location & Flexibility: Must be based in or near to London and able to travel on short notice. Willingness to work non-traditional hours (evenings/weekends) to match the global sporting calendar is essential.

What Success Looks Like

In the first 6 months, you will establish the benchmark for how our brand portfolio activates athlete storytelling, creating a repeatable, high-performing library of native content. You will prove your value not just as an individual creator, but as a strategic thinker capable of laying the groundwork for our content team's expansion. Success in this phase secures a long-term leadership position as a cornerstone of the agency.
